I'm with Jacob. Installed on Mac at home and XP at work (behind serious firewalls) with zero issues.

I just updated to itunes 8 as well with zero problems. Did it on both a mac and pc. I guess the 'assume stupidity' is still valid.

I updated to the new version of itunes on XP and have had zero problems.

The complainers will have to be more specific about their set ups if they want us to take their plaints seriously.

I took a look at the new features they were offering, didn't see anything that would appeal to me (I was hoping for the ability to pay a few bucks extra to be allowed to burn downloaded movies to a DVD, like they have for music), and ignored it.

An upgrade can never be a real upgrade if it doesn't improve my experience, and it can certainly be much worse.

I guess it could be Safari, but I updated yesterday, on vista, and haven't had any trouble....

OTOH, I haven't had a third of the trouble everyone assures me I "should" with Vista, and I'm a gamer who likes tweaking the setup....
