		<description>&lt;p&gt;I had a similar reaction when I discovered (over the net) that Astroworld was no more.  I didn&#039;t grow up in Houston, but I lived there for a few years.  Long enough to meet my future wife.  And it was in Astroworld that we decided that getting married was a good idea.  That was about 15 years ago.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;While I&#039;m sad that it&#039;s gone, I&#039;m also satisfied that it&#039;s gone.  It&#039;s something that private owners allowed to die.  There are other relics that are publically owned, that will never be allowed to die and instead serve only to increase the tax burden of those forced to pay for them.&lt;/p&gt;
