Seasons 1,3, and 4 were some of the best television I've ever seen. But this season has been a huge let down so far - the show's realism seems to have been replaced with a pessimism about human nature that is far more over the top than in the previous seasons. Season four is better still than 1, 2, or 3, taking a hard look at education in the city.
