Rob,

You are entirely correct. The general populace is too stupid to have an sort of "opinion" on just about any subject. It's all just a bunch of spouting by people like this, nothing more. Too much attention is paid to opinion columns in newspapers, or a news program on TV, and these are all written by the highly esteemed journalists. These journalistas (rats or toads, really) have zero integrity, no allegiance to any sort of ethics, and are almost always completely biased.

I'm sick to death of this stuff in America. A populace too stupid to know when they are being spoon-fed crap, and too few who are able, nor willing, to call these bastards on their bullshit.

It's amazing how quickly people jump onto those awful monopolies. For example, I was having a discussion at work about AMD vs Intel, in regards to the quad core chips. At the moment AMD is holding more market share than Intel (for the past 2 years I believe). Anyone, my friends final conclusion was that he would buy AMD because he didn't want Intel to become a monopoly, because he doesn't like monopolies. To which I responded, "What about gov't sponsored monopolies or direct gov't monopolies?" He had no idea what I was talking about.... the public needs to be more informed... is it really greedy corporations or greedy bureaucrats? maybe both?

Ah! This is the Milk Unification Board at work.

Don't know that that might be? Read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. The Steel, Coal and Railroad Unification Boards are exemplary.

In particular look for Hank Reardon's response to the steel plan. It was incredibly predictive. Does anyone dare to read through to the end to see how it works out.
