They're reading this blog. http://www.duckau.com

Bill-

I kindof thought that might be the case, but the idea of how corporate PR deals with the web was an interesting enough one to me that I appreciate your starting me on that train of thought, even if my initial assumption was incorrect

I don't know if the Disney PR folks are reading your site, but I read it regularly because I enjoy your writing. I'm not a Disney flak, just a guy married to a woman who loves WDW. We joined the Disney Vacation Club a few years ago, and visit every year the week after Thanksgiving.
I was serious. Join us that week next time, when the parks are pretty quiet. Bring your golf clubs and join me on the links (ok, we didn't join the Vacation Club just because I love my wife--where else could I take her on vacation, play golf everyday, and still be a hero?)
Hope you are having a great trip.

I also like Coca-Cola, Outback Steak House, and Titleist golf balls. I don't work for any of them either!!

Interesting story about the Disney employee contacting you. Thanks for sharing. On your Google idea towards the end of your post: That is sort of what Google Alerts does (see www.googlealerts.com) or Google's own service (http://www.google.com/alerts). In addition, PubSub (www.pubsub.com) or Feedster (www.feedster.com) are helpful for tracking mentions in blogs and news feeds.
